For the role, you will;

We have a new opportunity for an Associate Director – Environmental Services to join Bridgeway Consulting at our head office in Nottingham.

Role Purpose:

Develop and manage the Environmental Services division of Bridgeway Consulting, which includes Environmental Monitoring, Asbestos, Hazardous Materials and Ecology Surveys, Environmental and Heritage Consultancy, Lighting and Traffic and Air Quality Surveys, and Vegetation Surveys and Management.

Responsible for the Business Development of the team and securing works.

Allocating tasks through Bridgeway systems to allocate and report upon weekly resources, ensuring that the team is able to deliver against client and contractual demands.

Supporting the Director in Strategic decisions and developing the future direction of the department.

Key Accountabilities:

• Support the Bridgeway team and provide the focus of environmental management for the business, supporting staff with advice and guidance on environmental issues.
• Provide input to the education and training of the staff to monitor that they are fully aware of their responsibilities for the environment and EMS.
• Reviewing clients scopes and returning quotations based on that information.
• Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of Environmental Services staff.
• Undertake railway safety critical duties for which you hold competence certification.
• Comply with training and other requirements of your Safety Responsibility Statement.
• Commercial responsibility for outgoing pricing and offers of service relating to the Environmental Services function within the business.
• Ensuring technical compliance with client scope and appropriate standards.
• Delivery and management of technical and HSQE information to the Environmental Services team.
• Undertake other duties in accordance with the requirements of the company.

We have a new opportunity for an Engineering Surveyor to join Bridgeway Consulting at our head office in Nottingham.

The Role

We are seeking an Engineering Surveyor that will be responsible for leading survey activities, managing a small team and assisting Project Managers. It is important that you have knowledge of both survey and railway access processes you will lead in safety critical duties up to Engineering Supervisor (ES) level as required.

You must be able to demonstrate expertise in both manual and automated site surveying techniques and data processing.

Daily Activities

• Lead one or multiple teams and be responsible for survey operations on projects delivering to time and quality required.
• Managing Technicians and Graduates during “on-site” surveys, advising and operating instrument or setting up equipment if required.
• Carry out data processing and validation to required specification.
• Liaise with all outside parties in advance of the works to ensure no delays once on site
• Provide technical support for the department in survey and railway track alignment duties
• Be trained in safety critical duties up to Engineering Supervisor level
• Undertake Safety Critical duties in line with competencies held and certification gained

Role Purpose

• To ensure a safe and consistent delivery of all Bridgeway manned Possessions on a nightly basis liaising with SPICOP/PICOP/ES/Possession Support Staff.
• To make sure all Safe practises are followed.
• To carry out Possession Audits.
• To carry out PPE Audits.
• To carry out Vehicle Audits.

• To assist Wales and Marches ODM with any issues/queries/problems overnight.


Key Accountabilities

• Be able to take over a Bridgeway manned Possession at short notice on a nightly basis.

This role would best suit Senior Assistant/Geotechnical Engineers who are either at Intermediate level and are looking to progress to the next level in their career, or an experienced individual who has aspirations of managing ever more complex investigations.

For the role, you will;

• Hold a relevant degree, ideally within civil engineering or geology/earth sciences
• Post Graduate qualifications an advantage
• Chartered or have aspirations of gaining Chartered status (MICE, CGeol)
• Have at least 7 years' previous experience
• Be able to display experience in the commercial management of projects

• Manage project costs and project delivery time scales reporting to the departmental Director and AD on P&L

As a Site Investigtion Engineer you will be reporting to the Principal Engineer/Technical Manager/Relevant Project Manager, the Site Investigation Engineer is responsible for supporting in the organization, co-ordination and delivery of investigations works. The Engineer allocates and reports upon weekly resources required to the relevant Project Manager, ensuring that the team’s is able to deliver against client and contractual demands.

Key responsibilities:

o Ensure that all nominated persons that are appointed for all jobs are competent to undertake them

o Technical Standards of all jobs

o Health and safety of all investigation staff

o Ensure that the ground/structural investigations operatives carries out regular safety inspections of projects as detailed in the general arrangements for health and safety and auditing and monitoring systems

o Assist in the continuous review of applicable and possibly applicable legal, statutory, regulatory and advisory standards and client requests for changes or likely changes. Advising the roject Manager/PM of any amendments to the safety and quality systems necessary to implement those changes or to improve performance

o Responsible for successful delivery of all physical works projects

o Responsible for compliance with CDM regulations (where applicable)

Qualifications:

o Degree level education in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology

o 7 Years industry experience ideally with some rail although not essential as full training will be given

o Excellent working knowledge of EC7 and BS5930

We have a new opportunity for a Window Sample Driller to join Bridgeway Consulting at our head office in Nottingham.


Role Purpose:

• Responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of SI/GI projects on site as part of a team established by the nominated Project Manager (PM). The role is site based and will involve the collection and collation of all site information to enable a report to be produced.

• The role will also assist the needs of the business in delivering safety critical duties on railway infrastructure


Key Accountabilities:

• Delivery of SI/GI works to include but not limited to: Window Sampling, Rotary Drilling, Structural Coring, Trial Pitting and Dynamic Probing on site.

• Assist in the delivery of safety critical duties on rail infrastructure.

• Where called onto a project delivery team, the individual will undertake duties that draw upon their specific skills, experience and competencies. They will typically report on site to the Senior Technician and in the office to the Principal Project Manager

• Further project specific duties will be defined by the needs of the project and may include any of the disciplines currently offered within Consultancy Services, including but not limited to the following;

o Structural Examinations
o Structural Investigations
o Geotechnical investigations
o Confined Space Work
o Surveying
o Diving

• Undertake other duties in accordance with the requirements of the company.
